A few tips to help you make your exquisite purchase last longer.
MARBLE
-
Keep it as dust free as possible.
-
Apply a few drops of coconut oil on clean muslin rag and rub. It restores the shine of marble.
-
Use mild, non-abrasive detergent and water for removing stains. Do not let stains or spillage sit for longer.
-
Line marble platter with baking paper when serving greasy food to prevent it from absorbing oil.
-
Avoid use of acidic cleaners.
-
Avoid washing marble products under running water. Use damp cloth to clean. (for brass ornaments, see care below)
WOOD
-
Keep it as dust free as possible.
-
Place coasters to avoid unsightly water rings and marks.
-
Apply furniture polish (7CF preferably)
BRASS
-
Keep it as dust free and water-free as possible. Use clean, dry cloth for dusting.
-
Avoid using brass polish on lacquered brass.
-
Occasionally clean lacquered brass with warm water and mild detergent. Dry Immediately.
MOTHER OF PEARL INLAY
-
Dust regularly.
-
Keep mother of pearl inlay away from acids, or it will disintegrate.
-
Avoid soaking it in water, which could loosen the glue holding inlays in place.
-
Occasionally rub furniture wax on inlaid pieces. This will restore shine.
